brightening up your rainy tuesday
Hey y’all, it’s Tuesday. Get excited.
i’m unhappy today. this is helping.
I want this vacation.
Please take the time to watch this video. I think it’s worth discussing for the big vague project.
Jonathan Harris presents a couple different ways of capturing and telling stories - the latter portion on documenting the happiness of individuals in Buton is what really sparked my interest. I think one of the problems we might run into with just a traditional documentary is the post production work. Being in separate cities and by the sheer nature of editing it doesn’t lend itself to a wide collaborative experience and can limit the participation of everybody in the group after we have shot all the footage. So maybe we should broaden our idea of presentation and where a story can exist - not from a human stand point but from a presentation standpoint.
What are are broader ways to present a story than just a traditional video - one that can keep everybody in the creative process after all the footage has been shot? This idea also made me think back to the post Caitlin put up on the interactive website that detailed the stories of a high rise apartment.
What are your reactions? Or am I just making our rabbit hole deeper?
A little afternoon enjoyment…

This makes me want to see an animated short in which those two cranes are anthropomorphized.
Also, I can now see the tower from my roof, which is awesome. I’ll miss that roof.
